http://www.examiner.com/x-9345-Baltimore-County-Republican-Examiner~y2009m7d30-Senator-Ben-Cardin-holds-town-hall-meeting-by-personal-invitation-only

Senator Ben Cardin (D) will be holding a town hall meeting on health care reform in Baltimore County on August 10 at 7:00 p.m.

When I called Senator Cardin’s office to get further information, I was told the way they are notifying the public about the meeting is through Senator Cardin’s constituent email list. The constituent email list is a list of people who have contacted him in the past. In other words, this “town hall” meeting is by invitation only. Further, interested constituents must RSVP in order to attend!

————-

Dems are so scared that they are phoning in to town halls or having vetted pre-screened attendees only.

Is this what they call "DEBATE"?
@ Romare: "This is not and has never been a debate."

Well according to the democrats holding town halls it IS a debate and the protestors are stopping the "DEBATE".

So who is lying, you or them?

It’s hilarious that Democrats are scared to death to face the people they’re supposed to be serving.

Could it be that they’re not doing a very good job? Hrmmmm?

The Indianapolis Star reported that emails suggest Republican Rep. Phillip Hinkle arranged to pay Kameryn Gibson up to $140 for “for a really good time.” The paper published emails between Hinkle and Gibson detailing a plan for them to meet at a downtown Indianapolis hotel.
The pair reportedly connected on Craigslist. Gibson indicated in a listing to which Hinkle responded that he is 20-years-old. According to the Star, however, Gibson says he is actually just 18.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, a Republican, called the situation "a tragedy."

The Evansville Courier & Press reports:

Hinkle, who is 64 and was first elected in 2000, voted this spring for a constitutional gay marriage ban. Several years ago he also was the House sponsor of the measure that created Indiana’s “In God We Trust” license plates.
Hinkle is not the first politician to find himself in hot water over an alleged sex scandal involving Craigslist. U.S. Rep. Chris Lee (R-N.Y.) resigned earlier this year after finding himself embroiled in controversy. The AP reported in February:

Bill Clinton was a democratic party favorite, he lied to congress. He cheated on Hillary, though looking at her and listening to that shrill voice I can understand why. But none the less, he was prez, a big difference from a state Rep.

As far as TP favorite, well look at it this way. We the TP can not use a brain probe to see what lurks behind the words he speaks. If you cared to evaluate things in their entirety, you will see the TP is up in arms. I just emailed him and told him to resign, to go away. Or else become a democrat, the platform that embraces perversion.

An Indiana Republican state lawmaker is under scrutiny after reportedly arranging to meet a young man online and allegedly exposing himself when the pair subsequently met in person, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The AP reports:

Lee, a 46-year old Republican and married father, resigned his Buffalo-area seat … after the gossip website Gawker published e-mails he sent to a woman he met on Craigslist, including a photo where he is shirtless and flexing a biceps. Lee released a statement apologizing to his family and constituents for letting them down.
Hinkle did not deny being complicit in the situation uncovered by the Star when the local outlet contacted him for comment. He said, however, that he’s "aware of a shakedown taking place."

Peter Nugent, an attorney for the Republican lawmaker, told the Associated Press that his client would not publicly discuss the accusations he faces and that a private investigation looking into the matter is underway.

I don’t know most. I thought Republicans were afraid to have anal sex because they are so full of sh*t!

—-
Emails shared with The Indianapolis Star suggest that state Rep. Phillip Hinkle — responding to a local posting on Craigslist — offered a young man $80 plus tip to spend time with him Saturday night at the JW Marriott hotel.

The emails, sent from Hinkle’s publicly listed personal address, ask the young man for "a couple hours of your time tonight" and offer him cash up front, with a tip of up to $50 or $60 "for a really good time."

The email exchange is in response to the Craigslist posting in which the young man — who lists his age as 20 in the ad but says he is 18 years old — says, "I need a sugga daddy."

The young man told The Star that they met, but that he tried to leave after the man told him he was a state lawmaker. He said the lawmaker at first told him he could not leave, grabbed him in the rear, exposed himself to the young man and then later gave him an iPad, BlackBerry cellphone and $100 cash to keep quiet.

When contacted by The Star about the emails, Hinkle, a Republican who represents portions of Pike and Wayne townships, did not contest the emails but said, "I am aware of a shakedown taking place."

Asked what he meant by shakedown, Hinkle would not elaborate. He directed further questions to his attorney.

Hinkle’s lawyer, defense attorney Peter Nugent, said he was unable to say what Hinkle meant by a "shakedown." Nugent said he is investigating the situation, but he does not know what happened Saturday. Nugent said he has not filed a police report and does not yet know whether he will.

Asked whether he had seen the emails and the Craigslist posting, Nugent said, "Oh, I’ve seen some emails, but not all of them." He would not be more specific.

"I’m trying to get to the bottom of everything involved," Nugent said.

Wednesday, Nugent faxed this "official statement":

"Representative Hinkle is aware of the inquiries by The Indianapolis Star and we are investigating the matter at this time. We request that everyone respect the privacy of the family at this time."

Hinkle, 64, who lists his occupation as coordinator for community partnerships for Wayne Township Schools on the Indiana House website, has been a state lawmaker since 2000. He is best known in the Statehouse for his interest in local government issues. On the website, he also notes he was a co-author of the bill that created the "In God We Trust" license plate.

The young man, Kameryn Gibson, told The Star he posted the Craigslist ad in the "Casual Encounters" section under m4m, which is shorthand for men for men. He used his adopted sister’s email address.
—-
There’s more at the link . . .

"On the website, he also notes he was a co-author of the bill that created the "In God We Trust" license plate."

uh huh, another one

Ok first who is this guy ?

Paul Craig Roberts [email him] was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during President Reagan’s first term. He was Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal. He has held numerous academic appointments, including the William E. Simon Chair, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Georgetown University, and Senior Research Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by French President Francois Mitterrand

Second where am I getting this from ?

His blog

http://www.vdare.com/roberts/080101_criminals.htm

Third what did he actually say ? (Clips from the article I found interesting – below )

The American police have never prevented crimes. In olden days, the police solved crimes by finding the guilty party. No more. In our time, the police create crimes. And that is why the US prison population is twice the size of China’s, an authoritarian country with a population four to five times larger than America’s.

There you have it. The American Police—”support your local Gestapo”—spend their time engineering false crimes and not investigating real crimes. Americans are more at risk from the police than they are from criminals.

Never make the mistake of calling the police, and never get stopped by a traffic cop. You run the risk that he will drop a bag of drugs into your car and arrest you on a drug offense. If you encounter a police officer, be sure you have thousands of dollars with which to buy him off from making false charges. Most police charges are false charges. Americans need to wake up to this fact or the American prison population will outstrip the rest of the world combined.
——————-
Please read the entire article – I have only pasted and copied a few paragraph’s from that article on his blog

That entry

http://www.vdare.com/roberts/080101_criminals.htm

A list of his blog entries

http://www.vdare.com/roberts/all_columns.htm

What Wikipedia has to say about him

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Craig_Roberts

Forget about his politics for a moment and put all those partisan issues aside

This a rich man – he isn’t worried about where his next meal is coming from

He was part of the system the government the inner circle whatever you would like to call it -

He gains nothing by being critical in a public forum and risks much —

He isn’t running for any office(s) he isn’t likely to be welcome by Republicans or Democrats and he is in his late 60′s (69)

At that age it is likely his career for the most part is over – He has to coast on whatever his previous achievements have gotten him

And as I said one of those achievements is wealth -

Is what this guy telling you true ?

What are your reactions to this ?
A Republican — a life long Republican who was part of Regan’s government is a liberal academic and that is your "basis" for dismissing him ?

Wow -that is "special "

A high ranking official should be taken seriously

I’m assuming you are trying to make a point. In rebuttal:

1. The list you have produced proves Republicans are more moral – BECAUSE NONE OF THESE PEOPLE WERE RE-ELECTED ONCE IT WAS KNOWN.

2. Please remove anyone that has not been convicted, since people accused ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

3. Democrats consistently re-elect their perverts.

a. Gay whorehouse operator and sitting house Democrat Barney Frank is consistently re-elected.
b. Gerry Studds is the poster child for DNC morality.
c. Your ACLU consistently supports NAMBLA.
d. Your party consistanly adopts (pun intended) a pro death abortion position.

You have alot of gall to accuse republicans of being immoral.

Unlike your baseless attack, I provide links to prove my accusations.

WOULDN’T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?
‘My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed.

Since Congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom, Spain , Bulgaria , Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world’s nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening..

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT ‘ll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WON’T GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bonne chance, mez amies.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed.. I don’t care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2, its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra thousand tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put ‘em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty – starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we’ll be drilling for oil in Alaska – which will take care of this country’s oil needs for decades to come. If you’re an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, ‘darn tootin.’

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate home-lessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won’t forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night. ‘

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

Yaaaaaaaaay! How about a rousing rendition of "Stars and Stripes Forever" playing in the background?

Subject: My situation

My family’s been directly impacted by this crisis. Passing Obama’s economic recovery package would help my family and millions of others. But, to do it, we need to swing a few Republicans, so MoveOn is airing ads in key states. Can you chip in $25 to help air the ad?

(A BUTTON SAYS:) "CONTRIBUTE"

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

I’m James. I’m a MoveOn member, dad to two teenagers, and, until recently, I had a pretty good job in construction. But the company I worked for lost a lot of projects when the economy tanked, and I got laid off, without much notice.

So I wanted to write to ask for your help. Not help for me, but for all the folks who are out of a job or otherwise struggling in this recession. Let me explain.

President Obama’s economic recovery plan just passed in the House—it’s got billions of dollars for education, mass transit, and clean energy. But what really gets me is that not a single Republican voted for it, despite all the efforts by President Obama to reach across the aisle. If the same thing happens in the Senate, it won’t pass. But millions of families like mine need it to pass—it could put me, my former coworkers, and millions of other Americans back to work—and turn this economy around.

We need to get some Republicans on board. MoveOn has ads ready to go in key states—states where Republican senators are deciding right now whether or not to support Obama’s plan. But time is running short. I just chipped in, and I hope you can help, too. Click here to contribute:

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/recovery_link.html?id=15467-10486442-8w2YDZx&t=3

A new stimulus might mean a new job for me—weatherizing homes or constructing green affordable housing. It’d give my kids’ school some much needed funding. And it could mean real investments in mass transportation to ease traffic and cut emissions.

This is a big moment, both for my family and for families around the country. If thousands of us act, we can get these swing senators to change their votes. But we’ll need to do it fast—the vote could come as early as next week. I hope you can help out.

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/recovery_link.html?id=15467-10486442-8w2YDZx&t=4

Thanks for being such a great community. And thanks for all you do.

–James Spitzer, your fellow MoveOn member
** WHAT GETS ME — as a VERY ashamed registered Democrat — Is that they would solicit money even from people in THEIR PARTY who are OUT of WORK, NEEDY, BEING FORECLOSED ON, or anything else! They have NO SHAME! I get NOTHING LIKE THIS FROM the REPUBLICAN PARTY! Now you tell me… Which Party is the MONEY HUNGRY, GRUBBIN’ BUNCH! Who will do ANYTHING to ACHIEVE WHAT THEY WANT?! ** Now, I’m sure we’ll begin hearing from the bobble-heads who’ve been trained by the propagandized robots to repeat the well-rehearsed MANTRA that’s REPEATED in UNISON by the ENTIRE PARTY!
Dearest Caldwood: How, as a TRUE AMERICAN who LOVES her Country & would DIE for it without a seconds thought, NOT FEEL ANY other way?! How can BEGGING money from People on Their LAST LEG FINANCIALLY – WHO Obama PROMISED to HELP IMMEDIATELY! Be the ANSWER to SAVING this Country? If YOU think that’s the ANSWER, Sir, then you’d best crawl further back in your cave, pull up the covers & keep hiding under them, & PLEASE do continue those hypnotic drugs the Democratic Party has filled you full of! When you’re unable to even ADMIT to ANY Fallacies that come up pertaining to ANYTHING THEY DO, then YOU’RE LOST Son! YOU’RE NO HELP to this Country or It’s People! I’m a reg. Democrat though I DIDN’T vote for Obama because his LESS THAN 3-MONTHS in the Senate DIDN’T prepare him for the biggest job in the World, but I was ready to SUPPORT him! However, after his 1st DAY on the Job he showed me that would be IMPOSSIBLE!
He’s PROVEN he DOESN’T have America of US in his BEST INTEREST! He’s worried MORE about Terrorists, FORCING Abortions on poor black girls in 3rd World Countries, RESEARCHING BEES, ReSodding the National Mall – Where I know is the site of weekend family & friends picnics, touch football & Frisbee games! So, please tell me what in blue blazes good is it to SOD it? Costing so MANY 100s of MILLIONS of $$ that could be USED for reopening Factories, Jobs…? Throw some GRASS SEED on it goodness sakes just a thought – Let nature take it’s course – Leave it ALONE! America NEEDS so MUCH MORE right now than grass on the “Mall” in D.C. for people to PLAY on! The frost would kill it anyway! If those weren’t BAD ENOUGH! He’s BRINGING 10s of THOUSANDS JUST to BEGIN with – of “Displaced” IRAQI REFUGEES – Mainly SINGLE WOMEN w/CHILDREN – as if we DON’T have enough of those to SUPPORT all ready! To OUR COUNTRY! YES! They will be ADDED to OUR Welfare Rolls! Now where’s that a TAX Cut?
Thanks so much, justgetitright, for the breakdown! That put it in a lot more perspective; though, I wish you’d went even further w/ALL the OTHER Pork barrel garbage that really has me jumping at the gate!

I t would appear that deception and self interest still run rampant. Funny the request for funds did not mention that moveon org would be in the running for millions of dollars from the stimulus package and the funds would not be restricted to non-political activities as funds to non-government entities usually are, it seems the Democrats who wrote the package forgot to put the caveat in it that is required (you reference a separate law forbidding the use of the funds for political purposes and defines what those uses are) in the bill. As for the often repeated talk of bipartisanship and how the President reached across the aisle to include Republicans-well that was all done after the bill was written by Rep Pelosi and friends and just prior to the vote-where was the working together bipartisanship when the bill was being written? Since this emergency bill that must pass quickly is needed right now without debate for one reason only-to stop people from looking at the social programs, pork barrel earmarks, political payback and seeing that most of the money will not do anything for a year or more because the pork comes first. A very bad bill and will not help people any where close to the funding would indicate and not quickly so why the rush to push it through besides getting it done before people look at it? Actually too late since only 42% of the public now think it is a good bill. For the helping him since construction is part of the bill-if he is union possibly but the Democrats want much of the construction jobs to go to non-white, long term unemployed people and women; go back and look at the discussion and the remarks made-they do not want the construction jobs going to white people. President Obama does not run the DNC either but he is a member and he made good use of the money moveon.org provided, enjoyed the Gen Betryus line and refused to condemn them for that and got lots of donated labor and free air time from them so he owes them and Chicago politics means he will bail them out with taxpayer money. 4.19 billion for community projects-175 million reserved for non-government entities (ACORN and MoveOn as examples) and the remainder will be split based on some formula but the community organizations will compete with state and local government entities for it;read the bill.

I just got an email from Howard Dean cause I’m on that email list when he sends out the emails to the public asking me to write my congressman about the Bush vetoing the kids health care thing.

Does he think I am stupid?

These politicans they do this kinda stuff all the time to get the base all whiped up into a frenzy.

Its like this bill, it covered more kids than were in need, its not a good bill it costs too much money.
So Bush vetoes this so the democrats can get us all worked up and bent out of shape,
and the bill wanted to raise cigarette taxes,

so now Republicans are running around like chickens with their head chopped off saying heh look at us we faught a tax cut!

Its like flag burning, they waste their time on flag burning and then go home and campaign on the issue.

Meantime, how many poor kids really are without health insurance?

How about we get a decent piece of legislation for them?

SCHIP added $35 billion over 5 years to add 4 million children who didn’t qualify for Medicaid, but their families couldn’t afford to purchase insurance.
Cigarette tax would go up to $1 per pack.

I See Nothing Wrong With this Bill.
